How to read a PTR guide
Tell official announcements, photographed PTR rules, database achievements and datamined store prices apart when choosing a Talebound goal.

Evidence types used in this wiki
| Label | What it can establish | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Official announcement | Named classes, stories, published ability behavior and an announced test window | Every current tooltip, final price or live tuning value |
| Firsthand PTR report | What a player observed or photographed in the stated preview | Independent testing by this wiki, or identical behavior on every difficulty |
| PTR client database record | An item, quest, criterion or reward reference in that dataset | That the live release will retain it unchanged |
| Datamined catalog | A sourced preview list or cost | A guaranteed live price or a stable shopping budget |
Examples where the distinction changes the answer
A photographed Scribe progress counter is not a complete allocation rule. An interface total of 81 improvements does not establish how many talent points you can spend on a fresh character. A Book of Shadows screenshot containing four icons does not override a demo announcement listing only three playable stories.
The same applies to costs. Some decor entries have reported PTR prices, while a firsthand report says store costs looked like placeholders. Both can be true: the preview can contain a number without that number being a dependable live budget.
Read a criterion rather than inferring it from a name
The Veteran’s Ballad PTR quest objective counts 150 foes. The name does not by itself require Veteran difficulty. The Hero’s Saga objective counts ten bosses; an internal database display should not be mistaken for a one-boss public objective.
Where the boundary appears on a page
The page’s status and source list identify the evidence type. Tables call out preview costs, missing prices and specific unlock conditions. Playstyle explanations connect known ability functions to a practical decision; they are not presented as measured DPS rankings or a tested best build.
