What the class actually does

A weapon-focused hunter built around sword attacks, close shotgun pressure, mines and quick repositioning.

The table below covers the six abilities Blizzard described in its preview. It records targeting, movement and interaction rules rather than assigning invented cooldowns, damage percentages or talent ranks.

Ability reference

Ability reference
AbilityPublished behavior
SlashA sequence of three forward attacks. The finishing hit deals greater damage and stuns; the announcement also describes lesser enemies flinching when attacked.
Explosive ShotFire a shotgun forward. Nearby enemies can be struck by multiple shots, and empowering the ability increases its damage.
MinefieldLeap backward while throwing mines ahead. The mines damage and slow enemies.
Shrapnel RoundFire rounds that bounce among enemies, damaging the targets they strike.
Throwing KnivesMove quickly and strike nearby enemies. The official description says it can cancel other attacks for fast movement.
Silver BoltLeap upward and drive a silver bolt into the highest-health enemy within range, dealing immediate damage.

How the kit fits together

How the kit fits together
InteractionPractical meaning
Explosive Shot and distanceNearby enemies can take multiple shotgun hits. Distance therefore changes how the published ability works, even without a verified damage coefficient.
Minefield and the space in front of youThe action leaps backward and throws mines forward. Its escape direction and damage placement are part of the same action; it is not a forward gap closer.
Throwing Knives as an exitIts published description includes cancelling other attacks while moving quickly. That gives you another way to leave an attack commitment, separate from Evade’s immunity and charges.
Silver Bolt target selectionThe named target is the highest-health enemy in range. It should not be described as automatically selecting the lowest-health enemy for an execute.

Control and survival

Slash ends with a stronger stunning strike. That control is relevant to normal and silver enemies, but the enemy-type rules still apply: gold enemies are immune to stagger and stun. Some of the strongest-looking attack sequences therefore need a different defensive plan against a gold target.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Explosive Shot reward closer positioning?

Blizzard describes nearby enemies taking multiple shotgun hits. The guide does not supply a verified pellet coefficient or a universal optimal range.

Does Silver Bolt select a low-health enemy?

Its published targeting rule selects the highest-health enemy in range, rather than automatically executing the lowest-health target.

Will the final Slash hit stun a gold-marked enemy?

The attack has a stun component, but the shared enemy rules make gold enemies immune to stagger and stun.
