What the class actually does

A Light-based archetype combining repeated attacks, a moving slow, empowered casting and burning effects that can be detonated.

The table below covers the six abilities Blizzard described in its preview. It records targeting, movement and interaction rules rather than assigning invented cooldowns, damage percentages or talent ranks.

Ability reference

Ability reference
AbilityPublished behavior
PurifyA three-attack forward sequence in which each successive strike is stronger.
CondemnDeal holy damage to enemies ahead and reduce their movement speed. Can be cast while moving.
DenounceAn empowered attack that deals more damage with a longer commitment and forces enemies to confess.
Light's WrathCreate a wrathful sun above an enemy, burning enemies nearby.
RaptureApply damaging flames for a short period, then detonate those flames on command.
Radiant BurstThrow fire at a nearby target while moving. The impact explodes and burns nearby enemies.

How the kit fits together

How the kit fits together
InteractionPractical meaning
Condemn and movementCondemn damages and slows enemies and can be cast while moving. It connects offensive pressure with repositioning rather than forcing every action to be stationary.
Denounce and commitmentThe empowered cast becomes stronger with a longer commitment. Its purpose differs from a moving action: the time spent preparing the attack is part of the decision.
Rapture and deliberate detonationRapture applies damaging flames for a short duration and lets you detonate them on command. Light’s Wrath instead places a burning sun over an enemy; the official preview does not establish a special bonus between the two.
Radiant Burst on the moveRadiant Burst can be cast while moving. It sends fire at a nearby target and explodes on impact, burning enemies around that target rather than describing a burst centered on the caster.

Control and survival

Purify is the three-attack sequence, with successive strikes becoming stronger. Interrupting a yellow enemy cast requires damage, while a grey protected cast needs suitable control. Do not assume that every Light effect can stun a gold enemy or interrupt a protected cast simply because it deals Holy damage.

Artemir interviews WoW developers about Talebound and the wider Midnight update. Useful for design intent and the horror-class inspirations; the discussion also covers Astalor, Xal’atath and Season 3, so it is not a focused combat tutorial.
